Question:

Previously, the virtual machine can be connected to the Internet through bridge mode. No matter how the new installed virtual machine is set up these days, it cannot be connected to the Internet through bridge mode.

Reasons and Solutions:

After many attempts, it turned out that Tencent's wifi was the problem.

Due to some conflicts between wifi and wireless keyboard and mouse, wifi was removed from the mainframe, but the driver was not uninstalled. When choosing the network adapter to bridge the network, I found that there was always one more Tecent **** miniport after the name of the network adapter of the host, so I wondered whether it was related to Tencent's Universal wifi. When you try to uninstall the driver and choose again, only the network adapter name of the host is left. The connection is good.

The reason is peculiar, but it is also a common one.

The key points of using bridge mode in vmware virtual machines are summarized as follows:

0. In vmware virtual machine: vmnet0 corresponds to bridge mode; vmnet1 corresponds to NAT pattern; vmnet8 corresponds to host-only mode.

After installing vmware, two more network adapters, vmnet1 and vmnet8, will be added to the network adapters.

1, view the local connection

(1) Whether there is the option "VMware Bridge Protocol" in the attribute. If not, you need to install by installing-services-adding-from disk installing-browseing-selecting ES40en.inf in the VMware installation directory -- fine-ok. It will appear after installation.

(2) Whether this option is selected. If not, please select it.

2, View vmware: Edit - Virtual Web editor - Change Settings

(1) Whether there is VMnet0 VMnet1 VMnet8 at the same time, and the corresponding relationship with the first text is consistent (of course, the bridge network only USES VMnet0). If not, click the "Restore Default Settings" button to restore the Settings, leaving only the above three options.

(2) Select VMnet0 and in the "Bridge to" box at the bottom, the default option is "Auto". If you only have one network card, you don't have to choose. If you have multiple network CARDS, it is best to manually select the name of the network adapter that you want to bridge to the host computer.

(3) Make sure that the network adapter name of the host computer that appears in the "Bridge to" box is correct. If not, see if there are other wifi devices that are not set correctly.

3, view the target virtual machine: Settings -- network adapter -- select bridge mode
