Install Redis on Ubuntu

To install Redis on Ubuntu, open the terminal and type the following command:

$sudo apt-get update
$sudo apt-get install redis-server

This will install Redis on your computer.

Start the Redis

$redis-server

Check if Redis is working?

$redis-cli

This will open an Redis prompt, as shown below:

redis 127.0.0.1:6379>

Note above that 127.0.0.1 is the IP address of the machine and 6379 is the port on which the Redis server is running. Now enter the PING command, as shown in the figure below.

redis 127.0.0.1:6379> ping
PONG

This means that you have successfully installed Redis on your machine.

Install Redis desktop manager on Ubuntu

Installed on the Ubuntu Redis desktop management, as long as from http: / / redisdesktop com/download download package and install it.

The Redis desktop manager provides a user interface to manage Redis's keys and data.

configuration

Redis configuration

The configuration file (redis.conf) is available at Redis and can be found at the root of Redis. The configuration of all Redis can be set through the CONFIG command of Redis.

grammar

The basic syntax of Redis's CONFIG command is as follows:

redis 127.0.0.1:6379> CONFIG GET CONFIG_SETTING_NAME

For example,

redis 127.0.0.1:6379> CONFIG GET loglevel

1) "loglevel"
2) "notice"

Have all configurations use * instead of CONFIG_SETTING_NAME

example

redis 127.0.0.1:6379> CONFIG GET *
