get_headers() is an PHP system-level function that returns an array of headers sent by the server in response to an HTTP request. If it fails, FALSE is returned and an E_WARNING level error message is sent (to determine if the remote file exists).

The function definitions

array get_headers ( string $url [, int $format = 0 ] )

parameter

url target URL

If format sets the optional format parameter to 1, get_headers() parses the information and sets the array's key name.

The sample

< ?php
$url='http://www.phpernote.com';
print_r(get_headers($url));
print_r(get_headers($url,1));
? >

The output of the above routine is similar to:
